Instructions: Staking Inspection and Restaking Procedure
1. A proper stake should penetrate the machined slots as deep as possible without cracking the ring. Both sides of
the adjuster ring should contact the edges of the machined slot. A poor stake will have a gap between the
adjuster ring and the machined slot, as show below.
2. If the adjuster needs to be restaked, with a round head punch, stake the outer edge of the retaining ring into the
machined slots on each side of the wheel differential bore.
