norms during installation. A qualified technician should carry out the
installation!

• The supporting structure for the device must be able to carry 10 times the

required weight for one hour without deformation of that structure.

• The installation must always be secured by a secondary safety attachment e.g. a

safety cable (VDLSC7 or VDLSC8).

• Do not stand directly below the device when mounting, removing or servicing it.

Have a qualified technician check the installation once a year and once before
you bring the device into service.

Procedure

• Install the device in a location with few passers-by that is inaccessible to

unauthorised persons.

• Overhead mounting requires extensive experience: calculating work load limits,

determining the installation material to be used… Have the material and the
device itself checked regularly. Do not attempt to install the device yourself if you
lack these qualifications as improper installation may result in injuries.

• Make sure there is no flammable material within a 50cm radius of the device.

• A qualified electrician should carry out the electric connection.

• Connect the device to the mains with the power plug. In general, lighting effects

should not be connected to dimming packs.

• The installation has to be approved by an expert before the device is taken into

service.

• You will find a selector on the back panel. Three operation modes are available:

music-controlled, continuous rotation or static operation. When you select music-
controlled operation, you can adjust the sound sensitivity of the built-in
microphone with the knob on the rear panel. Adjust the sensitivity until the
movement of the beams is satisfactory.
