Introduction

Important environmental information about this product

This symbol on the device or the package indicates that disposal of the device after its lifecycle
could harm the environment. Do not dispose of the unit (or batteries) as unsorted municipal
waste; it should be taken to a specialized company for recycling. This device should be
returned to your distributor or to a local recycling service. Respect the local environmental
rules.
If in doubt, contact your local waste disposal authorities.

Thank you for choosing Vellight! Please read the manual thoroughly before bringing this device into
service. If the device was damaged in transit, don't install or use it and contact your dealer.

Safety Instructions

Be very careful during the installation: touching live wires can cause life-threatening
electroshocks.

Always disconnect the mains power when the device is not in use or when servicing or
maintenance activities are performed. Handle the power cord by the plug only.

Keep the device away from children and unauthorised users.

Check the rope light for mechanical damage, wear or tear. If the outer plastic sheath is
damaged in any way, do NOT plug in the rope light. Risk of fire or electrocution.

If a section of the rope light does not light up or flickers, unplug the rope light immediately
and do not use the rope light. Risk of fire.

Do not plug in the rope light while it is still wound on the reel.

This device should be installed and serviced by a qualified technician only.

Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by the warranty and
the dealer will not accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or problems.

Damage caused by user modifications is not covered by the warranty.

Mechanical wear is not covered by the warranty.

Only use the device for its intended purpose. All other uses may lead to short circuits, burns,
electroshocks, crash, etc. Using the device in an unauthorized way will void the warranty.

Make sure that the available voltage does not exceed the voltage stated in the specifications of the
device.

Always unplug the rope light before installing, cutting, modifying, servicing or cleaning.

Make sure nobody can step on or drive over the rope light.

Make sure there is no strain on the rope light and that nobody can pull it (accidentally).

Make sure no parts of the rope light are clamped or pressed. If you use tie wraps: make sure they do
not pinch.

Make sure the rope light has sufficient ventilation to prevent it from overheating.

Do not mount or place the rope light on or near flammable surfaces or materials.

The bending radius of the rope light is at least 30 cm, do not make sharp bends. Use connectors to
make sharp angles.

Use the original packaging if the device is to be transported.
