4. Output Signal: Modified Sine Wave


The AC output waveform of the PI1000W is a "modified sine wave"
(see figure at the right). It is a stepped waveform that is designed to
have characteristics similar to the sine wave shape of utility power. A waveform of this type is suitable for most AC

loads, including linear and switching power supplies used in electronic equipment, transformers and motors.
The PI1000W modified sine wave is designed to have an RMS (root mean square) voltage of 225V, the same as
standard household power. For accurate measurement of the output voltage, a true RMS reading voltmeter must be
used ; most AC voltmeters will read the RMS value of a modified sine wave about 20 to 30V low.

5. Use

Make sure the power of the device and the inverter is set to “OFF” when establishing connections.

Switch on the inverter before switching on the device.

If the buzzer sounds during operation, this indicated that the battery voltage is low and the inverter will auto-
shutdown in a couple of minutes (depending on load and battery).

The inverter will power down when the load draws too much power or when the inverter temperature exceeds 55°C.

When the inverter is connected to a battery through a cigarette lighter plug and it does not power on, check the

fuse inside the cigarette lighter plug. Consult the technical specifications for fuse rating.

An extension cord of up to 30m can be used on the AC side (between the inverter and the device). Do not use an
extension cord between the battery and the inverter, as this may cause a significant voltage drop.

If the device is powering down for no obvious reason (no overheating, overload or low battery), power off all

devices, disconnect all devices and the battery, verify if the connections are solid while re-establishing them.

Keep the PI1000W in a well ventilated place, out of reach of children and away from direct sunlight, heat sources,

liquid or moisture and flammable substances.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

Wipe the device regularly with a moist, lint-free cloth. Do not use alcohol or solvents.

All screws should be tightened and free of corrosion
