5. Operation

Refer to the illustrations on page 2 of this manual.
• Connect the speaker set (not incl.) outputs to an input connector pair [1, 2, 3 or 4] at

the rear of the speaker selector. Use a suitable cable (not incl.) of max. 14 gauge
(±2mm²). To make a connection:

o

strip ±10mm of insulation from the cable

o

twist the copper wire

o

push on the spring loaded connector

o

insert the wire

o

release the spring loaded connector

Important: always use the correct polarity – connect the positive (+, red) terminal of

the speaker to the positive connector on the speaker selector and the negative (-, black)
terminal of the speaker to the negative connector of the speaker selector.

Always connect speakers in pair (a left and right speaker) to any input connector [1, 2,

3 or 4] and use speakers with the same impedance.

• Make sure the amplifier (not incl.) is off and connect its speaker outputs to the input

connectors [D] of the speaker selector. Use a suitable cable (not incl.) of max. 14 gauge
(±2mm²) and respect the polarities.

• When desired, a second speaker selector can be connected to the output connectors [E].

• Switch on the amplifier and enable the desired output speakers with the output selectors

1~4 [B] at the front of the speaker selector (push down to enabled, release to disable).
Note: depending on the load, the speaker selector will heat up. Always leave at least
5cm free space on either side of the selector switch and keep the ventilation openings
free from dust etc … at all times.

• When necessary, press the impedance protection circuit switch [A] to enable the internal

impedance protection circuit. This prevents that the impedance presented to the amplifier
drops below 5Ω.
