Quick troubleshooting
If you have problems with your Silent Series
grand piano, here are a few simple trouble-
shooting tips.
If you press the power switch on, and no
light comes on:
Is the AC adaptor connected to the mains
power supply? Is the adaptor connected
to the Silent Series grand piano?
If you engage the Silent Lever to stop the
hammers from hitting the strings, but you
can still hear the piano sound:
The Grand Silent system will not work
properly if you play too hard. Play a little
more softly to stop the piano sounding.
If you turn on the power switch and the
indicator comes on, but no sound comes
through the headphones:
Is the VOLUME control turned up to the
proper level? Are the headphones
plugged in properly?
If you hear a distorted or unnatural piano
sound through the headphones or the level
through the headphones is too low or too
high:
You should be using YAMAHA HPE-170
headphones. Other headphones may not
give a satisfactory sound (see page 15 for
details).
There is too much or not enough reverb.
Use the REVERB control to adjust the
amount of reverb.

gel der “Silent”-Serie verbunden?
Wenn Sie den “Silent”-Hebel betätigen, um
den Flügel stummzuschalten, Sie den Klang
jedoch immer noch hören:
Die “stumme” Betriebsart des “Grand
Silent
”-System arbeitet nicht einwand-
frei, wenn Sie allzu hart anschlagen.
Spielen Sie etwas weicher, damit die Sai-
ten nicht erklingen.
Wenn Sie den Netzschalter betätigen, und
die Lampe aufleuchtet, aber nichts über die
Kopfhörer zu hören ist:
Ist der Regler VOLUME zumindest
etwas aufgedreht? Sind die Kopfhörer
richtig eingesteckt?
Wenn Sie über die Kopfhörer einen verzerr-
ten oder unnatürlichen Klavierklang hören,
oder die Lautstärke der Kopfhörer zu groß
oder zu gering ist:
Sie sollten die Kopfhörer YAMAHA HPE-
170
verwenden. Andere Kopfhörer könn-
ten einen unbefriedigenden Klang erzeu-
gen (lesen Sie auf Seite 15 für
Einzelheiten).
Zu viel oder zu wenig Hall.
Stellen Sie mit dem REVERB-Regler den
gewünschten Hallanteil ein.
