Examine the operating principle of a Dutch telescope!
What do we need?

Base plate

Dispersing lens “
−100”

Focusing lens “+300”
1
Mask
Conducting the experiment
1.
Attach the mask to the base plate!
2.
Place the “
−100” lens and the ”+300” lens onto the optical axis as marked on the base plate! The
distance between the lenses must be approx. 16 cm!
3.
Direct the base plate with both lenses onto a distant object (window, tree etc.)!
4.
Move both lenses until you get a focussed image!
5.
Describe your observations! Name the features of the image!
6.
Name fields of application for a Dutch telescope!
