Suction Flap Valve Reassembly and
Installation
If the suction flap valve was disassembled, secure
the weights (14, 15 and 19) to the flap valve gasket
(16) with the hardware (17 and 18).
Position the flap valve against the suction head
with the large, threaded weight toward the inside of
the casing. Install the suction flange (12) and se-
cure it to the pump casing with the capscrews (11).
Check the operation of the flap valve to ensure
proper seating and free movement.
Final Pump Assembly
Be sure the pump and motor are securely
mounted to the base.
Install the suction and discharge lines and open all
valves. Make certain that all piping connections are
tight, properly supported and secure.
Fill the pump casing with clean liquid. Reinstall the
fill plug (22) and tighten it.
Refer to OPERATION, Section C, before putting
the pump back into service.
LUBRICATION
Seal Assembly
The seal assembly is lubricated by the medium be-
ing pumped. No additional lubrication is required.
