256 Colors
The 256 colors image provides 256 levels of color hues. The disk
space required to save an image in 256 colors is 1/3 of that
required to save a 24-bit true color image.

True Color
A 36-bit Color image consists of three 12-bit color channels. The
red, green, and blue channels are mixed together to create a
combination of one billion(2
36 ) colors which give a more true-to-
life quality to the image. True Color is the best choice if you
want to scan a color photo.
