ABL Lights LED

history AnD quALity

ABL Lights, as an OE supplier is a leading Group of the
quality product segment. Therefore, ABL Lights Group
entered LED business 15 years ago through the hardest
technology sector : RAILWAY.

ABL Lights Group has developed a specific LED know-
how in order to maximize their LED product efficiency
by the use of state of the art components, thermal and
optical design. In year 2009, ABL Lights became the
only one company in Europe able to supply reliable and
homologated train driving lights FULL LED !!

When LED started to be required on industrial equipments
users, ABL Lights merged railway and industrial projects
to share experiences.

Now ABL Lights supplies Construction, Mining and Handling
segments to large Worldwide OEs. To maximize the light
output and the life time of their products, ABL Lights
Group has developed a specific electronic design with
heat control by thermal sensor. This advanced design
ensures highest efficiency and life time even in harshest
conditions.

ABL Lights Led products are tested and qualified
according to the hardest thermal conditions from -40°C
to +85°C ambient, to provide the same quality level as for
their well known Halogen and Xenon product range.

LED proDucts

LED brings to lighting new advantages but remains
the most complex light source to drive.

To enjoy LED benefits, it is essential to consider the most
important factor, the thermal management.
LED is a cold light source due to its small heat produc-
tion, but the thermal limit of LED is also low and thus, it
affects the performances.
Higher the LED temperature is, lower the light output,
lower the life time and lower the efficiency are.
The output of LED (in Lumen) is stated by LED manufacturer
at 25°C junction temperature, taken on pulse of current
too short to heat the die.
This is what we call “raw lumen” because they are calculated
as if the chip produces not heat which is completely
unrealistically higher than real output.
In normal operating conditions, when we turn on an LED
work light, Led is heating until a stabilized temperature.
This temperature affects the output and the life time
of the LED. ABL Lights Group always considers the real
light which is coming out of their products.
