CHANGE THE DRIVE LETTER ASSIGNED TO HDD
To change the drive letter for the external hard disk under Windows 98SE or Me, for example, from
drive ‘D’ to drive ‘E’, follow the instructions below.
1. Open ‘Control Panel’, then ‘System’, click on ‘Device Manager’ tab, double click on ‘Disk
Drives’, select the model of the external hard disk, then click on ‘Properties’ button.
2. Click on ‘Settings’ tab, check the ‘Removable’ box under ‘Options’, then change the ‘Start drive
letter’ and the ‘End drive letter’ to the letter you wish to assign for the hard disk.
3. Click
OK, the drive letter will be changed after restart computer.
