TORQUE TABLE

BOLT SIZE: 3/8” = 20-30 ft. lbs. – 7/16” = 35-45 ft. lbs. – ½” = 50-70 ft. lbs. – 9/16” = 70-90 ft. lbs.

SAFETY:

BEFORE STARTING YOUR INSTALLATION, BE SURE TO SET PARKING BRAKE AND CHOCK TIRES.

NOTE:

THIS KIT INCLUDES LOCK NUTS WHICH REQUIRE TIGHTENING WITYH A WRENCH AFTER BEING STARTED BY HAND.

1. Remove Factory Installed Sway Bar. Save mounting hardware and frame brackets for install-

tion of Hellwig sway bar.

2. Lubricate and install the D-shaped poly bushings on the sway bar in approximately the same

location so that the bushings line up with the mounting location on the frame.

3. Raise the sway bar up into position and attach the D-shaped poly bushings using the factory

mounting hardware.

4. Install the end links on the lower control arms. TIGHTEN SLIGHTLY JUST UNTIL BUSH-

ING START TO BULGE. See photo two (2). DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.

5. By moving the sway bar to the right or to the left the end links can be aligned as vertical as pos-

sible.

6. Tighten all the bolts on the U-plates to the factory specifications.
7. Bounce the vehicle and check for clearance on all the undercarriage components. Turn the front

wheels full lock left and then to the right making sure that clearance is maintained between the
tie rod and the sway bar. Be sure that all nuts and bolts securely tightened. Check and see that
all wires, fuel and brake lines etc. are clear of this installation and cannot be damaged. Recheck
your installation after one (1) week of driving and every thirty days thereafter.
