Precautions for hazardous location installation

Only qualified personnel should conduct the installation tasks described in this
section of the manual. This equipment is suitable for use in Class 1, Division 2,
Groups A, B, C & D Hazardous Locations with specified sensors and options
appropriately certified and rated for Class I, Division 2, Group A, B, C & D
Hazardous Locations. Always refer to applicable electrical code regulations for
proper installation.

Explosion hazard. Substitution of components may impair suitability
for Class 1, Division 2. Do not replace any component unless power
has been switched off and the area is known to be non-hazardous.

Wiring for power

Never connect any sensor or digital or analog module to a sc200 that is not clearly
marked as certified for Class 1, Division 2 Hazardous Locations.

Connecting sc sensors

Explosion hazard. Do not connect or disconnect electrical
components or circuits to the equipment unless power has been
switched off or the area is known to be non-hazardous.

Never connect any sensor or digital or analog module to a sc200 that is not clearly
marked as certified for Class 1, Division 2 Hazardous Locations.

When a quick-connect fitting is used to attach a sensor to the controller, a
connector safety lock must be installed.

1. Attach the sensor connector to the plug on the controller.
2. Align the connector safety lock over the connector.
3. Squeeze the halves together to lock.

To remove the connector safety lock:

1. Insert a small flat-blade screwdriver in the locking groove.
