Dynamic IP Service

If you broadcast from your computer, you should provide your viewers with IP address of your computer. However
if you have a dial-up connection, DSL line, or cable modem, then the IP address of your computer changes every
time you connect. To solve this problem, you can use the MOBI Technologies, Inc web server, which allows your
web camera to have a permanent address on the internet.

A special web address is reserved for you once you sign up for the MOBI Technologies, Inc. Dynamic IP service.
This web address is based on a User ID, which you receive after you sign up.

For example, if your User ID is "billsmith", the Internet address of your WebCam is
http://www.mobionline.com/cgi-bin/ip.cgi?billsmith. Therefore, users can access your ReCam easily.

How does the Dynamic IP Service work?

ReCam:

defines IP address of your computer or detects if the IP address has been changed.

sends the IP address of your computer to the MOBI Technologies, Inc. web server.

MOBI Technologies, Inc. web server updates the data base.

A viewer to watch your WebCam:

points Web browser to the MOBI Technologies, Inc. web server (for example:
"

http://www.mobionline.com/cgi-bin/ip.cgi?Bill_Smith

").

MOBI Technologies, Inc. web server redirects Web browser to the IP address of your computer.

Web browser connects to your computer and shows images captured from camera.

To sign up for the Dynamic IP Service:

Click Dynamic IP Service from the Options menu.

Click the Sign Up for Free Trial Account button to try this service for free during 30 days.

Click the Sign Up for Permanent Account button to sign up for this service.

Using a Dial-Up Connection

You don't need to use dial-up connection if your computer is connected to Internet always, e.g. it has a permanent
internet connection (such as, Cable Modem, DSL, ISDN, etc.).

If the Dial-Up service is enabled, ReCam establishes a dial-up connection every time when it needs to upload
captured image.

To install dial-up networking (if it is not installed), open Control Panel, select Add/Remove Programs, choose Windows Setup, double-click
Communications, and select Dial-Up Networking.
