Battery

► To open the battery compartment, place your thumb on the recess,

press down and slide forward.

► Insert the supplied 9V battery paying attention to the plus (+) and

minus (-) poles. If the battery is inserted in the wrong direction, the

battery cover will not close.
Low Battery Life Alert

► When the battery is low, the yellow LED will blink continuously and

the device will continue working until the battery dies.

Turning On the Device

► Before turning on the device, hold the device away from metallic

objects including your watch and jewelry. Turn on the device by

sliding the switch to either audio or vibration alert.

► When the device is turned on a long beep will be heard and the

green LED will illuminate. At start up, the red LEDs will light up for a

short period of time indicating battery life status and then they will go

off. During operation, the red LEDs will indicate the signal level or the

sensitivity level.

Audio or Vibration Alert

► The device operates on the principle of motion. The device will not

produce a signal when held still over a metal. You must move the

device over the metal in order for the device to detect it. When the

device detects metal, it will produce an audio or vibration alert

according to your mode selection. The rate of the pulsing audio or

vibrations will increase as the device gets closer to the metallic object

and it will decrease as the device is moved away. When the device is in

audio mode the red LEDs will also illuminate according to the signal

strength providing visual warning as well.

Earphone Jack

► For a silent operation or to use the device more conveniently in

noisy environments, insert the optional earphone jack here.
