Information for Current WMS Users

If you are new to IntelliTrack WMS, skip ahead to the next section

“Pre-

Installation Considerations” on page 3

If you currently use IntelliTrack WMS v5.2 or higher and are upgrading to
v7.x, please refer to

“Pre-Installation Process when Upgrading” on page 2

and

“Data” on page 2

Pre-Installation Process when Upgrading

If installing an upgrade, the previous version of WMS Workstation Appli-
cation MUST BE REMOVED from your system BEFORE installing the
new software.

Before you remove the previous version from your system, create a backup
copy of your database. You may back up your SQL Server database by
using Enterprise Manager or Management Studio, or for MSDE use the
batch utility, backup.bat found in your application directory. For complete
data backup information, please refer to your User Manual or the online
help.

Warning: To ensure against loss of data, make sure that you have created a
backup copy of your database before removing the previous software ver-
sion. Do not remove your previous software version until you have created
a backup copy of your database.

To remove the previous software version, use the Windows control panel to
Add/Remove Programs and remove the WMS workstation application
from your computer. Use Windows Explorer to delete the directory where
the previous version was installed.

Data

Your data will automatically be updated to run in WMS v7.x during the
installation process (i.e., your existing data will be compatible with the new
version of WMS).
