Select a RAID Level for the storage volume.

If you selected Redundancy for the storage volume: Assign the port number for the Primary
and Secondary boot path.

If you did not check Use Catalog Storage on the storage pool entry screen, or if you are
entering information on the storage entry screen (where Use Catalog Storage is not
available).
a.

Obtain from the Storage Administrator the storage port WWNs and LUN identifiers
corresponding to the server WWN for each storage volume.

b.

Enter the storage port WWN for each server WWN.

c.

Enter the LUN identifier for each server WWN.

If you checked Use Catalog Storage on the storage pool entry screen:
a.

Check the Masked checkbox if you want the volume to be presented to the server WWN.
If this checkbox is unchecked, the volume is hidden from the server WWN.

You may want to uncheck this checkbox if the volume is a data disk that you do not
want seen at boot time. For example, if you are provisioning Linux on the logical server,
you must uncheck (to unmask) the data disk. Otherwise, provisioning will fail.

b.

Press Show Candidates. The available storage port WWNs are displayed in the
Candidates

drop-down menu.

NOTE:

If no candidates are displayed, try changing the volume constraints, such as

selecting a different value for RAID Level or Size. Press Show Candidates again.

If matching candidates are not displayed, verify that Storage Provisioning Manager
(SPM) is configured for the expected storage volumes. See

“Setting up SPM for use with

logical server storage” (page 63)

for more information.

c.

Select a value from the Candidates drop down menu.

d.

Ensure that the Request Binding checkbox is checked, then press Save.

e.

On the Manage Storage Pool screen, monitor the Status column for the storage pool
entry. (You may have to refresh the page by pressing Get/Refresh Storage Pool
Entries

.)

f.

When the value in the Status column is Presentation Completed, press the Modify
button on the Manage Storage Pool screen to return to this screen.

g.

Select a Storage Port WWN from the drop-down menu and press Save.
