Move workloads from the older servers to the newer server
From the Systems tab of the Edit Scenario screen, select all the servers in the scenario. Then select
What-If Action
→Change Servers to VMs→Automated System Consolidation to VMs. (See
solution finding: System consolidation to VMs
for procedural help on this option. For this example,
the Smart Solver load balanced after consolidation and a Virtualization Overhead of 20% was
assumed.)
In this example, the Smart Solver moved the workloads from the initial physical servers to VMs on
the destination host “NewVMhost1.” The system data for this scenario now reflects this change,
as shown in the following image. Note that power utilization is only displayed for the VM host.
Run a utilization report that includes power selections
From the Planning tab, select Report
→Create Utilization Reports...
Use the
supplied for the initial utilization report.
