Zone set sizes are determined by the:

Number of zones in the zone set

Length of each zone name

Number of members in each zone

Interoperability mode of the fabric

Contact HP Professional Services or your support representative if you have questions regarding

specific zone set configurations.

Zoning naming conventions

The following rules apply for zone names and zone set names:

Names must begin with alphabetic characters, but can include alphanumeric characters and

underscores.

Names must be unique and are case insensitive.

Names cannot include spaces.

Names cannot begin with SANav_ because it is reserved.

Names can have a maximum of 57 characters.

No duplicate names are allowed in zones, zone sets, or zone libraries.

Zoning configuration

Use the Zoning dialog box (

Figure 98

) to configure zoning. When the Zoning dialog box is open,

zoning discovery is performed during every polling cycle for up to 30 minutes, after which it is

performed once every two hours.
