Review the parameters, then click Create. Click OK for each confirmation. A confirmation is
shown to indicate the Datastores are created successfully.

NOTE:

When creating virtual volumes from an existing Datastore, the volume allocation

limit of the original virtual volume is also be applied to the newly created volume. Current
operation only supports TPVV or CPVV type.

Adding an ESX(i) Host to the vCenter Server

If an ESX(i) host with connection to HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage system is added to the vCenter
Server after vSphere client is launched and the storage system does not appear on the existing HP
3PAR StoreServ Storage system list, you can manually add the host.

To add an ESX(i) host to the vCenter Server:
1.

Log on to vSphere client.

2.

Go to Home

→Solutions and Applications→HP 3PAR Management Plug-in and Recovery

Manager Software for VMware vSphere.

3.

Select the storage system on the node tree pane view and right-click. Select Connect from the
option menu.

4.

Enter the information of the storage system and click Login.

5.

Verify the new storage system is added to the node tree pane.

6.

Go to Home

→Inventory→Hosts and Clusters→HP 3PAR.

7.

Click Refresh, select Update Recovery Manager Cache option and click Refresh. All associated
HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage system virtual volume information should display.

NOTE:

Another way to refresh the internal inventory cache, close and reopen the vSphere

client.
