Cause and action

Problem

The information displayed in either the VMware vSphere Client
window or the Plug-in for Virtualization Server Provisioning
window might not be up to date.
Do the following:

1.

Make sure that the latest information is displayed in the
VMware vSphere Client window.
If the latest information is not displayed in the VMware
vSphere Client window, see the VMware documentation to
update the information in the VMware vSphere Client win-
dow.
If the latest information is displayed, restart the CIMOM in-
terface as instructed by the Support Center to update the
virtualization server information.

Ask the storage administrator to update the host information
registered in P9000 Command View AE Suite.

The virtualization server information dis-
played in the Plug-in for Virtualization
Server Provisioning window is different
from the information displayed in the VM-
ware vSphere Client window.

A role might not be assigned correctly to the server administrator.
Ask the storage administrator if the Modify role has been assigned
to the server administrator.

Operation buttons are not displayed in the
Plug-in for Virtualization Server Provisioning
window.

The following are possible causes:

Required storage resources have not been assigned.
Ask the storage administrator to verify that the storage system,
parity groups, LDEV IDs, and host group numbers have been
assigned correctly to the server administrator and that no ne-
cessary information is missing.

The Modify role has not been assigned.
Ask the storage administrator if the Modify role has been as-
signed to the resource groups managed by the server admin-
istrator.

No volumes can be allocated to virtualiza-
tion servers.

There are no problems with using Plug-in for Virtualization Server
Provisioning. Click the Cancel button.

Collecting maintenance information

To identify the cause of an error or recover from a problem, sometimes log files related to Plug-in for
Virtualization Server Provisioning are required.

If requested by the storage administrator or network administrator, send the following log files to the
appropriate administrator.
