iSCSI boot configuration

To configure iSCSI boot, do one of the following:

Static iSCSI boot configuration

For a static configuration, enter data for the system IP address, the system initiator IQN, and the target

parameters obtained in "Configuring the iSCSI target (on page

6

)." For information on configuration

options, see "Configuration options (on page

7

)."

To configure the iSCSI boot parameters using static configuration:

1.

From the General Parameters Menu screen, configure these options:

o

TCP/IP parameters via DHCP: Disabled (for IPv4)

o

IP Autoconfiguration: Disabled (for IPv6, non-offload)

o

iSCSI parameters via DHCP: Disabled

o

CHAP Authentication: Disabled

o

DHCP Vendor ID: BRCM ISAN

o

Link Up Delay Time: 0

o

Use TCP Timestamp: Enabled

o

Target as First HDD: Disabled

o

LUN Busy Retry Count: 0

o

IP Version: IPv6 (for IPv6, non-offload)

o

HBA Boot Mode: Disabled
For HP FlexFabric CNA adapters, select Enabled to support offload iSCSI boot path. The HBA Boot
Mode parameter cannot be changed when the adapter is in Multi-Function mode.

2.

Press ESC to return to the main menu.

3.

From the main menu, select Initiator Parameters.

4.

From the Initiator Parameters screen, configure these values:

o

IP Address (unspecified IPv4 and IPv6 addresses should be "0.0.0.0" and "::", respectively)

o

Subnet Mask Prefix

o

Default Gateway

o

Primary DNS

o

Secondary DNS

o

SCSI Name (corresponds to the iSCSI initiator name used by the client system)

IMPORTANT:

Check that the IP address is correct. There is no automatic error-checking

performed against the IP address to find duplicates or incorrect segment or network assignments.

5.

Press ESC to return to the main menu.

6.

From the main menu, select 1st Target Parameters.

7.

From the 1st Target Parameters screen, enable Connect to connect to the iSCSI target. Enter values for
these options using the values used when configuring the iSCSI target:
