Analyzing Ad Hoc Queries
Use the Query Performance Analysis window to display the Explain output
for ad hoc queries. You can enter queries in this window, retrieve queries
stored in files, or move queries from the Program Query Analysis window.
To display the Query Analysis window, click on QueryAnalysis in the Main
window, then click on AdhocQuery. The Query Analysis window is
displayed, as shown in Figure 7-17.
Create a Query
You can type a new query or retrieve a query stored in a file. If you
entered the Query Analysis window from the Program Query Analysis
window, the query is imported automatically.
To create the query, enter an SQL statement in the SQL Statement pane
shown in Figure 7-18, or click on Retrieve to retrieve a query that was
previously stored using SaveCommand.
