Recovering a blocked pool

When a pool is blocked, recovery must be performed in this order: pool-VOLs, pool, pairs, V-VOLs.
1.

To recover a blocked pool-VOL, contact HP Technical Support.

2.

To recover the pool, performing one of the following:

Add additional pool-VOLs to the pool.

Delete Snapshot data from the pool to increase unused capacity.

Delete pairs to lower the pool’s usage.

3.

To recover the pair, delete the pair. This is necessary because, when a pool is blocked, the
status of all Snapshot pairs with Snapshot data in the pool changes to PSUE. To recover the
PSUE pairs, they must be deleted and re-created.

4.

To recover the V-VOL, contact HP Technical Support.

Processing pool-related SIMs

Check and correct pool-related SIMs (Service Information Message) for the following, if they occur:

Reference code 601XXX—Pool usage rate exceeds the threshold.

Reference code 602XXX—Pool is blocked.

XXX indicates the pool ID. Check SIMs using the System Information/Status window in Remote
Web Console.

After correcting the problem related to a SIM, complete the SIM and change its status to completed.

To complete a SIM:

1.

After correcting the problem so that pool status is normal, open the Pool window.

2.

Click Complete SIM Action.

3.

In the Confirmation window, enter the Task Name.

4.

Click Apply.
