(6) HORCM_LDEVG

The HORCM_LDEVG parameter defines the device group information that the RAID Manager
instance reads. For details about device group, see

“LDEV group function” (page 66)

.

The following values are defined.

Copy group: specifies a name of copy group. This is equivalent to the dev_group of
HORCM_DEV and HORCM_LDEV parameters.

RAID Manager operates by using the information defined here.

ldev_group: Specifies a name of device group that the RAID Manager instance reads.

Serial#: Specifies a DKC serial number.

(7) HORCM_INSTP

The HORCM_INSTP parameter uses when specifying a path ID for the link of Continuous Access
Synchronous as well as HORCM_INST parameter.

HORCM_INSTP
dev_group ip_address service pathID
VG01 HSTA horcm 1
VG02 HSTA horcm 2

NOTE:

The path ID can be specified at Continuous Access Synchronous. It cannot be specified

at Cnt Ac-J. Because the path ID is used at the paircreate command and the pairresync
-swapp[s], it must be specified at the both site of P-VOL and S-VOL. If the path ID is not specified,
it is used as a CU free.

Configuration definition for cascading volume pairs

The RAID Manager software (HORCM) is capable of keeping track of up to seven pair associations
per LDEV (1 for Continuous Access Synchronous/Cnt Ac-J, 3 for Cnt Ac-J, 3 for Business
Copy/Snapshot, 1 for Snapshot). By this management, RAID Manager can be assigned to seven
groups per LU that describe seven mirror descriptors for a configuration definition file.

Figure 16 Mirror descriptors and group assignment

Configuration file and mirror descriptors

The group name and MU# described in the HORCM_DEV parameter of a configuration definition
file are assigned the corresponding mirror descriptors, as outlined in

Table 5 (page 33)

. “Omission

of MU#” is handled as MU#0, and the specified group is registered to MU#0 on Business Copy
and Continuous Access Synchronous. Also, the MU# that is noted for HORCM_DEV in

Table 5 (page

33)

reflects a random numbering sequence (for example, 2, 1, 0).
