6. Select Enable for the Windows HBA Boot Mode parameter.
7. Modify the iSCSI Name parameter based on the DHCP options that are used by the DHCP server.
o If DHCP Option 17 is used, the initiator name is retrieved from the value entered in the Initiator
Parameters screen. But if no value is entered, the controller defaults to the name:
iqn.1995-05.com.broadcom.<11.22.33.44.55.66>.iscsiboot
where 11.22.33.44.55.66 is the controller MAC address.
o If DHCP Option 43 is used, settings in the Inititator Parameters, 1st Target Parameters, or 2nd
Target Parameters fields are ignored and do not need to be cleared.
8. Press <Esc> to exit the General Parameters Configuration screen.
iSCSI Boot installation types
The iSCSI target disks must be installed with one of the supported operating systems described in System
requirements (on page 4 ). Targets can be installed using any of the following methods in conjunction with
the operating system distribution files:
• USB device installs
• NFS network installs
• PXE network installs
The iSCSI boot target drives are installed using the bnx2 driver that is delivered with the Linux distribution
using the installation tree that can be provided by either CD/DVD or NFS/PXE.
After the installation completes, reboot the system for an iSCSI boot to occur.
RH5 installations
The following describes how to install RH5 on iSCSI boot targets.
USB device install
Skip this section if you are doing a network installation, such as PXE or NFS.
Installing targets using a USB device
1. Power on the server with the first OS installation CD in the CD-ROM drive.
2. Select Enter at the boot prompt to begin the installation.
3. Select the required language, keyboard, and Local CDROM install. After the Red Hat Enterprise
Linux 5 window is displayed, select Next.
4. Select Advanced storage configuration. Ensure that Add iSCSI target is selected and then select Add
drive.
5. In the Configure iSCSI Parameters dialog box enter the Target IP Address and iSCSI Initiator Name
and select Add Target. Please note that the iSCSI Initiator connects to the target and the target drive
appears as an available drive for the installation.
6. Follow the traditional installation procedure as prompted. The installation automatically sets up the
disk for iSCSI boot during post installation. After the disk is configured for iSCSI boot, the standard
OS installation screen appears and the system reboots.
