CAUTION:

To prevent possible server overheating, always populate processor socket 2 with a

processor and a heatsink or a processor socket cover and a heatsink blank.

IMPORTANT:

Processor socket 1 must be populated at all times or the server does not function.

To install the component:

1.

Power down the server (on page

18

).

2.

Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.

3.

Remove the server from the chassis ("

18

).

CAUTION:

Failure to completely open the processor locking lever prevents the processor from

seating during installation, leading to hardware damage.

4.

Open the processor locking lever and the processor socket retaining bracket. Do not remove the
processor socket cover.

IMPORTANT:

Be sure the processor remains inside the processor installation tool.
