HP Storage Manager User Guide

Using HP Storage Manager

In the Enterprise view panel, expand the system tree and click the name or icon of a
controller. The main panel on the right now shows condensed information about the
physical and logical devices connected to the controller. The following figure shows
a typical view of the main panel at this point.

To expand a physical or logical device list and get brief information about each

listed device, click the triangular arrow icon to the left of a row of devices.

To get detailed information about any device, right-click the device and select

Properties from the dropdown menu.

NOTE: A drive shaded in light blue is not part of any disk group.

The first three buttons under the Logical devices heading enable you to change how
information is displayed in the Physical devices view.

Information about physical devices is displayed in text format as
an expanded list. The effect is comparable to clicking the
triangular arrow icon in the initial view.

Information about physical devices is displayed graphically. The
total capacity of each device is represented by a bar, and all
bars are of the same length. Used capacity is shaded. A small
segment on each drive is reserved for the RAID signature; this
area is indicated by a gray cap at the end of each bar.

Similar to the previous format, but the length of a bar in this case
is proportional to the device capacity.
