Playing a USB device

A USB fl ash memory or USB mass storage class

compatible digital audio player can be connected to

this unit to play music (audio fi les) in it.

• For the playable fi les, see "Playable audio fi les" (page 42).

Playback

Connect a USB device.

Connect the USB fl ash memory or the USB cable

of the USB audio player to the USB connector of

this unit (page 10). Also refer to the instruction for

the connected device.

When you select USB source, "READING" is

displayed and the input source is switched to USB

Start playback.

Press [USB

E]/[E].

The folders and fi les are searched and playback is

started with the fi le with the smallest fi le number.

• Playback does not start if there is no playable fi le in the

USB device.

• When a digital HDD audio player is connected, the

characteristics of the HDD system may cause the
sound to be interrupted when playback is resumed
after pause.

Folder play mode

The system can be set to a mode for playback per

folder.

In this mode, the system plays only the selected

folder and stops after all of its fi les have been

played.

• Select the USB source and enter stop mode.

Select "N" (folder play mode).

Press [P.MODE].

Each press switches the playback mode.

Select a folder and play it.

Press [

A]/[B].

Display when folder 5 is selected.

When a folder is selected, "FOLDER" is

displayed and the selected folder starts to play

automatically.

To cancel the folder play mode...

Stop playback and press [P.MODE] to select the

normal play mode.
