Mandatory Regulations

The following sections describe the mandatory
regulations that govern the installation and
operation of the EXP212, EXP224, and EXP248.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

The sections that follow outline the mandatory
regulations that govern the installation and
operation of the EXP212, EXP224, and EXP248.
You must adhere to these instructions so that
your system meets regulatory requirements.

Danger 1—When removing cards from a

chassis under power, some of the components
such as the DC converters may be extremely
hot. Handle by the card guides only.

Warning 1—This unit contains no user-

serviceable parts. Refer servicing to qualified
personnel.

Warning 2—To prevent accidental electrical

short circuits, align the card correctly between
the card guides before you insert it in the slot.

PREVENTION OF ACCESS

The EXP212, EXP224, and EXP248 must be
accessible only to authorized personnel. Install
this apparatus in a restricted access location
or similar environment to prevent unauthorized
access.

EMC COMPLIANCE

EMC compliance may require the use of ferrites,
shielded cables, or other special accessories.
Where required, these special accessories must
be installed as per the instructions.

REGULATIONS COMPLIANCE

SAFETY APPROVAL

The system complies with the Product Safety
Requirements identified in EN 60950, IEC 60950.

ELECTROMAGNETIC

The system complies with the FCC Part 15 Class
A, EN 55022, IEC 61000.

SURGE PROTECTION

The system complies with IEC 61000-4-5.

ROHS AND WEEE

The system complies with the RoHS and WEEE.
