What is a HotSync

®

operation?

A HotSync

®

operation is a one-step operation that allows you to

synchronize data between your CLIÉ handheld and your computer. With
just one press on the HotSync button, you can synchronize your CLIÉ
handheld application data with the Palm

Desktop for CLIÉ software data

on your computer, back up the data of your CLIÉ handheld on your
computer, or install add-on applications.

1

Synchronize the Date Book, the Address Book, the To Do List, the Memo
Pad, and the Expense data on your CLIÉ handheld and your computer.
The Palm Desktop for CLIÉ software can manage the data of multiple
CLIÉ handhelds independently.

2

Back up the data stored on your CLIÉ handheld onto your computer.
Synchronization ensures that your data is always safe and up-to-date. In
case you need to perform a hard reset, a HotSync operation allows you to
restore the data.

3

Import the data on your computer or install add-on applications onto
your CLIÉ handheld.
