Recording additional scenes after finalizing
You can record additional material on the
finalized DVD-RW/DVD+RW after the
following steps, if there is space to record
on the disc.

Connect the AC Adaptor to the
DC IN jack on your camcorder,
then connect the power cord to
the wall outlet.

Slide the POWER switch to turn
on the
(Movie) lamp.

Insert the finalized disc into your
camcorder.
A confirmation screen appears to
prompt you to confirm that you wish to
record additional scenes.

Touch [YES] t [YES].

When [Completed.] appears,
touch .
For the discs recorded with SD
(standard definition) image quality
• When using finalized DVD-RW (VR
mode) discs, you can record additional
material on the disc without any
additional steps.
• To unfinalize DVD-RW (VIDEO mode),
perform (MANAGE DISC/
MEMORY) t [UNFINALIZE] on the
HOME MENU.
• If you have created a DVD menu (p. 58)
when finalizing the DVD+RW, a dialog
appears to confirm that you wish to record
additional scenes when you slide the
POWER switch and turn on the
(Movie) lamp.

• Use the AC Adaptor as power source to prevent
your camcorder from running out of power
during the operation.
• Do not apply shock or vibration to your
camcorder, and do not disconnect the AC
Adaptor during the operation.
• A disc menu created during finalizing are
deleted.
• When you use a double-sided disc, perform this
operation on each side.
• You cannot record additional scenes on a
finalized DVD-R/DVD+R DL disc.
• You cannot record additional scenes on a
finalized disc during Easy Handycam operation.
To do so, cancel Easy Handycam operation.
