Don’t know which device you are
operating?
If the remote does not seem to function, you
may be operating your TV, not the DVD-VCR.
Set the TV/DVD-VIDEO switch on the remote.
Also, some buttons work only for the DVD
player or the VCR. Be aware of the one you
are controlling: check the “DVD” or “VIDEO”
indicator in the display window and select by
pressing SELECT DVD or SELECT VIDEO.

the VCR.

Insert a tape with its safety tab

in place.

Press INPUT SELECT to select a

input source.

Select a channel on your cable

box or satellite receiver.

Press SP/EP to select the tape

speed, SP (Standard Play) or EP
(Extended Play).

window and the VCR stands by for
recording.
Timer recording will operate properly
regardless if the DVD-VCR is turned
on or off.

Keep the channel you want to

record set on your cable box or
satellite receiver, and leave it
turned on.

To cancel the setting

Press CLEAR in STEP 4.

Why is the

indicator flashing in the

display window?
The

 indicator flashes when a timer setting is

set with no tape to record on. Insert a tape
with its safety tab in place.

connected device using the timer

Plug the DVD-VCR power cord into
an AC outlet.

Display pictures

on the TV

Press

/ to turn on the DVD-

VCR and turn on your TV.

Switch the TV input using the

TV’s remote (usually INPUT or
TV/VIDEO) so that the signal
from the DVD-VCR appears on
the TV screen.

Which do you want to use?

For operating the DVD player

Press SELECT DVD.
“DVD” is lit in the display window.

For operating the VCR

Press SELECT VIDEO.
“VIDEO” is lit in the display window.
