Connect the positive (red) battery clamp to the

positive terminal of the discharged battery.

o

Connect the negative (black) battery clamp to

a suitable vehicle ground such as an alternator

bracket—away from the vehicle battery.

o

The voltmeter on the front of the RESCUE

4000HD/4050HD will automatically read the

voltage of the discharged battery.

o

If the voltage is above 5V, turn the switch on the

back of the RESCUE 4000HD/4050HD to the on

position.

o

The unit is ready to jump start the disabled

vehicle.

o

When the vehicle starts, turn Rescue

4000HD/4050HD off remove the black and

then the red battery clamps and store them

in the provided pockets on the RESCUE

4000HD/4050HD.

o

Recharge after use.

o

The model 4050HD is supplied with an air

hose with an integrated inflator and pressure

gauge. A rocker switch on the back panel

turns the compressor on and off.

o

The compressor has a 40% duty cycle.

• Be sure the switch on the back of the RESCUE 4000HD/4050HD is in the OFF position

before connecting clamps to a vehicle for jump starting.

• The RESCUE 4000HD/4050HD is equipped with a polarity alarm. If the cables are

connected incorrectly, the alarm will sound. DISCONNECT the cables immediately and

check the polarity of the discharged battery. Reconnect the cables insuring the positive

(red) battery clamp is on the positive battery terminal and the negative (black) clamp is

connected to a vehicle ground away from the battery.

• If the voltage reading is below 5V, OR if there is no reading at all on the volt meter,

DISCONNECT THE BATTERY CABLES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO START.

Periodically check the internal battery voltage and recharge the unit when the voltage

drops below 12.5V. Keeping the battery fully charged will insure that your RESCUE

4000HD/4050HD is ready when you need it.

o

The built-in float charger will maintain your battery at full charge. You can safely plug the

RESCUE 4000/4050HD into a 120V AC outlet whenever it is not in use to maintain a full

battery charge.
