Introducton

The manboard comes wth the Intel RAID controller that allows you to configure SATA

hard drves as RAID sets.

RAID controller offers RAID level 0 (Strpng), RAID level 1 (Mrrorng and Du-

plexng), RAID level 5 (Block Interleaved Dstrbuted Party), RAID level 10 (A Strpe of

Mrrors).

RAID 0 breaks the data nto blocks whch are wrtten to separate hard drves. Spread-

ng the hard drve I/O load across ndependent channels greatly mproves I/O perfor-

mance.

RAID 1 provdes data redundancy by mrrorng data between the hard drves and pro-

vdes enhanced read performance.

RAID 5 Provdes data strpng at the byte level and also strpe error correcton nforma-

ton. Ths results n excellent performance and good fault tolerance. Level 5 s one of the

most popular mplementatons of RAID.

RAID 10 Not one of the orgnal RAID levels, multple RAID 1 mrrors are created, and a

RAID 0 strpe s created over these.

Important

The least number of hard drves for RAID 0 and RAID 1 s two. The least number of

hard drves for RAID 10 mode s four. And the least number of hard drves for RAID 5

mode s three.
