Formatting Your Picture Card

If you own Picture Cards that have been used in other digital cameras, the cards
may not be properly formatted for use in your DC3200 Digital Camera (or the
data on the cards may have become corrupted). When these issues arise, your
camera indicates that the Picture Card needs to be formatted.

Formatting a Picture Card erases all of the information on the card, including any
delete-protected pictures. Be sure to copy important data to your computer or
other recording medium before formatting the card.

You can also format the internal memory so that all pictures in the internal
memory are erased, freeing up space for new pictures.

1

Insert a Picture Card to be formatted, or
remove the card from the camera to format
the internal memory.

2

Set the Power/Mode switch to the

or

position.

3

Press the MENU button to display the Menu
screen.

4

Press a

button until FORMAT is

highlighted, and then press the SELECT
button.

The Format screen appears.

5

Press a

button until CONTINUE is

highlighted, and then press the SELECT
button to begin formatting.

“No picture on memory card (in internal
memory).” appears as formatting ends.
