ADDING A CUSTOM BROWSER DEFINITION

In order for the SharePoint server to generate HTML that is compatible with the MFP

browser (which is powered by NetFront), a special confi guration fi le must be installed

in every site that the MFP browser will access. This fi le contains a description of the

capabilities of the NetFront web browser. With this fi le present, SharePoint will correct

some issues that normally would be present when otherwise generating the HTML for

a remote browser.

Please note that this guide is written using Microsoft

®

Windows Server

®

2003 and IIS 6.0.

While other Windows operating systems or IIS versions may be installed, the procedure

is common enough across all platforms that it should apply.

Finally, due to SharePoint’s fl exibility, at times the folder created for the site in inetpub\

wwwroot does not refl ect the server name. Because of this, the procedure below will

bring you to the correct folder in order to install the nf34.browser fi le.

1. First, open the IIS by going to Start

,

Control Panel

,

Administrative Tools

,

“Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager”
