4.3.3
Auto Discovery Mode
There are three options for this setting. Select the appropriate radio button
based on the following information:
SNMP Broadcast: in most cases, printers can be discovered using this set-
ting.
TCP Socket Connection Discovery: some networks restrict broadcasts. If
discovery fails when SNMP Broadcast is selected, this setting may allow
printer discovery.
2
Note
For TCP Socket Connection Discovery to work, your network and intend-
ed printer devices must allow traffic to and from TCP Port 7.
Auto Discovery Off: all printers must be added manually if this radio button
is selected.
2
Note
Some networks may restrict both SNMP Broadcast and TCP Socket
Connections. In such cases, Auto Discovery Off should be selected and
all printers added manually.
4.3.4
Setting the Discovery Interval
The Discovery Interval is the time rate at which Printgroove POD Queue will
query the SNMP Discovery Ranges you have specified in order to locate
newly added printers. Select a value from the drop-down menu. The default
value is two minutes. If, however, the Auto Discovery Off radio button is se-
lected, the Discovery Internal drop-down is greyed out.

Forcing Immediate Discovery
There may be times when you want Printgroove POD Queue to start discov-
ery immediately. If so, follow this procedure:
