eCopy Desktop v9 Product Activation FAQs April 2007

What happens if I don’t activate my product key before the 30-day grace period expires?
Failure to activate the product key once the 30-day grace period has expired will cause the software to stop functioning until
the required activation is performed.

What information is collected during activation?
Only information that is necessary to activate the product key will be collected. This includes the product key itself, and your
computer’s hardware ID. Personal data is not collected or transmitted during activation.

Do I need a new product key, or do I need to reactivate if I reinstall the eCopy Desktop software?
No. As long as you are installing eCopy Desktop on the same computer and have not made any hardware changes you do
not need a new product key and reactivation is not required.

Can I transfer a product key from one computer to another?
Yes. You can transfer your eCopy Desktop product key from one computer to another by opening
Options>Preferences>Licensing and clicking the Transfer Key button. Transferring a key takes a valid eCopy Desktop
license and frees it up for use on another computer. An Internet connection is required to complete the transfer.
