With the PT8051 and PT7031, you’re the technical
director – and you can do it all effortlessly. There’s no need
to run wires out to satellite or surround speakers. And
the amplifier is built-in, so you don’t need to hook up
a separate receiver. You just plug your DVD player and TV
into our speaker system, push Power, and settle back for
an exhilarating entertainment experience.

So now all you need to do is choose the system
that’s right for you. With the great looks and sound we
build into every Altec Lansing product, that’s the only
hard part.

Technology and Simplicity, Together at Last

Patented technology delivers
true Voice of the Theater sound

Conventional, cone-shaped drivers push the sound
directionally outward from the cone. That means you
need several speakers located strategically around
the room to provide an optimum surround sound
experience. In addition, the cone itself requires a
relatively deep cabinet that makes all those speakers
hard to locate unobtrusively.

In contrast, the PT7031 and PT8051 use counter-
balanced, flat-panel drivers that operate over a wide
range of bending modes – the same principle of physics
that makes acoustical instruments work. It’s called
NXT Digital technology, and it allows full-frequency
response that is much wider than a conventional
driver's – filling the room with clear, super-realistic
highs over a full, rich bass. The result is true surround
sound ambience with a simple, elegant speaker system
that’s flat, sleek, understated – simply beautiful.

The NXT driver’s frequency response is much wider
than that of a conventional driver. In addition, as
this solution does not require the crossover network
associated with conventional drivers, there’s no
degradation to the signal path. The result is
natural, unadulterated sound – delivered just as
the director intended.

High-definition, widescreen TVs are reaching the magic
price point where nearly everyone is itching to get one.
But there’s a catch. In every case you have to wonder:
What about sound?

For nearly 80 years, Altec Lansing engineers have been
building professional audio systems for theaters, concert
halls and production studios. In fact, the original
Voice of the Theatre

®

series speakers were the only

commercially available theater speakers approved by the
Research Council at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts
and Sciences.

Now, we’re proud to bring Voice of the Theatre audio
quality right into your living room with the PT7031
Powered Theater and the PT8051 Wireless Theater
speaker systems. They’re the perfect complements to
today’s high-def TVs.

Experience a Room Filled with
Sound, Not Speakers

Our new Voice of the Theatre series speakers are the
perfect choice for everyone who wants lush surround
sound, but doesn’t want six speakers (and wires)
cluttering up the room.

Thanks to a revolutionary flat-panel driver design,
the Voice of the Theatre PT7031 offers true Dolby

®

and DTS

®

surround sound from your favorite movies

and videos – all from just one component that mounts
beautifully on the wall below your flat screen, or sits
on any flat surface. The Voice of the Theatre PT8051 adds
a wireless rear speaker that puts you right in the middle
of the action.

Both systems replace a traditional, cumbersome home
theater system with its A/V receiver and multiple
speakers with a sleek, unobtrusive, easy-to-operate unit
that fits perfectly with your big-screen TV, your home
décor and your lifestyle.
