Using an AC adapter

An AC adapter is useful for time-consuming
tasks such as image downloads to a computer
or when running a slideshow for a long period of
time. To use an AC adapter for this camera, the
multiadapter cable (CB-MA1) is required.
Do not use any other AC adapter with this camera.

Using your charger and AC

adapter abroad

The charger and AC adapter can be used in
most home electrical sources within the range of
100 V to 240 V AC (50/60Hz) around the world.
However, AC wall outlets are shaped differently
in different countries or regions. Therefore, the
charger and AC adapter may require a plug
adapter to match your wall outlet. For details, ask
at your local electrical shop or travel agent.
Do not use travel voltage converters as they
could damage your charger and AC adapter.

Using an xD-Picture Card

A card (and also internal memory) corresponds
to the fi lm in a fi lm camera. The recorded images
(data) can be erased, and they can be retouched
with the use of a computer. Cards can be removed
from the camera and exchanged, but it is not
possible to remove or exchange the internal
memory. Use of larger capacity cards enables you
to take more pictures.

Using a new card

Before using a non-Olympus card or a card that
was used for another purpose in a computer
or other device, use [MEMORY FORMAT]/
[FORMAT] (p. 37) to format the card.

Checking the image saving location

The current memory indicator shows whether
the internal memory or card is being used
during shooting and playback.

Even if [MEMORY FORMAT]/[FORMAT],

[ERASE], [SEL. IMAGE], or [ALL ERASE]
is performed, the data in the card is not
completely erased. When disposing of
the card, damage the card to prevent the
disclosure of personal data.

Readout/recording process of the card

Never open the battery/card compartment
cover or unplug the USB cable while the
camera is reading or writing data, which is
indicated by blinking of the card access lamp.
This can not only damage the image data
but also render the internal memory or card
unusable.
