This section will give you all the information you
need to install the BT Home Monitor VP1000 –
within seven easy to follow steps:

• Step 1 – Inside The Box.

• Step 2 – Activating The Control Panel.

• Step 3 – Installing The Wireless Sensors.

• Step 4 – Registering For Your BT Home

Monitoring Account.

• Step 5 – Completing Installation.

• Step 6 – Testing Your System.

If you have purchased additional accessories,
please install the main pack first, followed by
each additional item. A separate installation guide
is enclosed with each accessory.

System Requirements

• Active telephone line – BT Home Monitoring is

compatible with most forms of residential
telephony connection except ISDN2e.**

• Mains 240V power supply for the Control Panel.

This pack provides you with everything else you
need to set up the home monitoring system.

* Call charges will apply.

** Call barring of 0870 numbers will prevent the Control Panel

from dialling the Monitoring Service.

Step 1 – Inside the Box

Here’s what you’ll find inside the BT Home
Monitor VP1000 box:

1 Control Panel – The focal point
of your system. Collects information
from wireless sensors to give status
reports on your home.

1 Keyfob – Switches your system
on and off at the touch of a button.

2 Movement Detectors – Detects
unauthorised movement in rooms.

1 Magnetic Contact – Alerts when
a door or window has been opened.

1 Telephone Cable with Socket
Doubler
– Connects your system to
the phone socket.

1 Power Adapter – Connects your
system to the mains power.

Rechargeable Batteries – Allows your
system to function for approximately
8 hours in the event of a power failure.

Mounting Equipment – Allows you
to attach your Control Panel and
sensors to the wall.
