The depth stop adjustment is a feature used
when cutting grooves (dados) in the workpiece.

The depth adjustment is used to limit blade
depth to cut grooves.

A groove can be cut as a slide cut.

1.

Set the depth of cut by loosening the knurled nut
on the depth adjustment bolt (Figure 32). Do not
change the position of the two (2) jam nuts on
the end of the bolt.

2.

Turn the depth stop bolt to the correct setting.

Tighten the knurled nut.

4.

Cut the two outside grooves.

5.

Use a wood chisel or make multiple passes by
sliding the wood over to one side to remove the
material between the outside grooves (Figure 33).
