Switch on the appliance.

Hold the appliance with the cutting unit pointing

upwards and make downward strokes with the

precision trimmer (the narrow side of the cutting

unit).

Be careful, the trimmer removes every hair it touches.

Cleaning

Clean the appliance every time you have used it.
Never use scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents or

aggressive liquids such as alcohol, petrol or acetone to

clean the appliance.
Only clean the appliance and the adapter with the

cleaning brush supplied.

Note: This appliance does not need any lubrication.

Make sure the appliance is switched off and

disconnected from the mains.

Pull the comb off the appliance (Fig. 10).

Clean the cutting unit with the cleaning brush

supplied. Also brush away any hairs that have

collected in the openings under the cutting

unit (Fig. 12).

Note: If the cutting unit falls off the appliance, you can

reattach it. Place the cutting unit back onto the appliance

and press it down until you hear it lock into position with

TWO clicks.

Put the appliance in the storage case supplied.

Store the appliance in a safe and dry place.

Note: Do not store the appliance while it is still connected to

the mains.

Environment

- Do not throw away the appliance with the normal

household waste at the end of its life, but hand it in

at an official collection point for recycling. (Fig. 13)

- The built-in rechargeable battery contains substances

that may pollute the environment. Always remove

the battery before you discard and hand in the

appliance at an official collection point. Dispose of

the battery at an official collection point for batteries.

If you have trouble removing the battery, you can

also take the appliance to a Philips service centre.

The staff of this centre will remove the battery for

you and will dispose of it in an environmentally safe

way (Fig. 14).
Removing the rechargeable battery

Only remove the rechargeable battery if it is completely

empty.
Do not connect the appliance to the mains again after

you have opened it.

Disconnect the appliance from the mains and let

the appliance run until the motor stops.

Pull the cutting unit off the appliance.

To remove the front panel, insert a screwdriver

between the front panel and the appliance (Fig. 15).

Undo the screw behind the front panel (Fig. 16).

Insert a screwdriver between the front housing and

the back housing of the appliance (Fig. 17).

Remove the entire front housing (Fig. 18).

Undo the four screws that fasten the printed circuit

board (Fig. 19).

Pull out the printed circuit board with rechargeable

battery (Fig. 20).

Cut the wires that connect the printed circuit

board with rechargeable battery to the

motor (Fig. 21).
