= Range in Yards

Size of Target in Mils

Size of target in inches X 27.778

= Range in Yards

Size of target in Mils

Size of target in inches X 25.4

= Range in Meters

Size of target in Mils

Example 1: Looking through the riflescope, I located a preset target that has a known size of 12”x12” square. By using the Mil Dots I
measured the target to have a Mil reading of 1. What is my distance to the target?

Known size of target: 12”x 12”
Mil Reading: 1Mil

12 X 27.778

1 Mil

= 333.33 Yards
