manual, the appliance is safe to use based on scientific

Preparing for use
Charging

Fully charging the appliance takes approx. 1 hour.

A fully charged appliance has a cordless clipping time of

up to 1 hour.

1

Make sure the appliance is switched off.

2

Insert the appliance plug into the appliance (Fig. 3).

3

Insert the adapter into the wall socket.

, When you start charging the empty appliance,

the bottom segment of the charge level indicator

flashes orange. When the battery contains enough

power for one clipping session of approx. 10

minutes, the bottom segment starts flashing blue.

, First the bottom segment of the charge level

indicator flashes blue, then the second segment and

so on, until the appliance is fully charged.

, When the appliance is fully charged, all segments of

the charge level indicator light up blue continuously.

, If the fully charged appliance is still connected to

the mains after approx. 1 hour, the segments of the

charge level indicator go out.
Battery low

When the battery is almost empty (when there are

approx. 10 clipping minutes left), the bottom segment of

the charge level indicator turns orange.

When you switch off the appliance, the bottom segment

of the charge level indicator flashes for a few seconds.

Optimising the lifetime of the rechargeable

battery

- After you have charged the appliance for the first

time, do not recharge it between clipping sessions.

Continue using it and recharge it only when the

battery is (almost) empty.

- Do not keep the appliance plugged in continuously.

Corded clipping

When the rechargeable battery is empty, you can also run

the appliance from the mains.

To use the hair clipper connected to the mains:

1

Switch off the hair clipper and connect it to the

mains.

2

Wait a few seconds and then switch on

the appliance.
Using the appliance
Display indications

The display is activated when you press the on/of button

and when you turn the length adjustment ring.

- During clipping, the display provides the following

information: (Fig. 4)

, The selected hair length (i.e. the remaining hair

length after clipping) in millimetres.

, ’--’ when no comb is attached to the appliance

, ‘THIN’ when the thinning comb is attached to the

appliance

, The remaining battery charge.

, ’E’ if the cutting unit is blocked.

Clipping with the small and large clipping

comb

Make sure you use the right comb. If you use the

thinning comb instead of the small or large clipping

comb, only part of the hairs will be cut.
Select the small or large clipping comb, depending on the

desired hair length.

- The hair length settings are indicated in millimetres

on the display of the appliance. The settings

correspond to the remaining hair length after

cutting (Fig. 5).

- The small clipping comb cuts hair to a length

between 3mm and 22mm in steps of 1mm.

- The large clipping comb cuts the hair to a length

between 23mm, and 42mm in steps of 1mm.

1

Slide the comb into the slot in the appliance

(‘click’) (Fig. 6).

2

To set the comb to the desired hair length setting,

turn the hair length adjustment ring to the left or

to the right (Fig. 7).

, The display shows the selected hair length.

3

Switch on the appliance.

Tips

- We advise you to start clipping at the highest setting

of the large clipping comb and to reduce the hair

length in small steps until you reach the desired hair

length.

- If a lot of hair has accumulated in the comb, remove

the comb and blow and/or shake the hair out of it.

Removing the comb does not change the set hair

length setting.

- Write down the hair length settings you have used

to create a certain hairstyle as a reminder for future

clipping sessions.
Clipping with the thinning comb

Make sure you use the right comb. If you use the small

or large clipping comb instead of the thinning comb, all

the hair will be clipped at the same length.

- The thinning comb cuts hair to a length between

3mm and 22mm in steps of 1mm.

- With the thinning comb, you can give your haircut

a natural look and it allows you to create a smooth

transition between two different hair lengths.

- The thinning comb cuts only half of the hair

that enters the comb, which results in a natural

look (Fig. 8).
Thinning an entire haircut

We advise you not to use the thinning comb for very

short haircuts.

1

Slide the thinning comb into the slot in the

appliance (‘click’) (Fig. 6).

2

Set the thinning comb to a lower setting than the

one you just used for the small or large clipping

comb to create the haircut.

How much lower the setting for the thinning comb

should be depends on your hairstyle and hair length.

However, never use the thinning comb at a setting that

is lower than half the setting you used to create the

haircut. For example, if you used the large clipping comb

at 30mm to create the haircut, do not use the thinning

comb at a setting lower than 15mm.

3

Switch on the appliance.

4

Move the thinning comb through the hair.

Make sure the thinning comb only touches each spot

once, otherwise it cuts all the hair to the set hair length.

Creating a smooth transition between two

hair lengths

If you have cut your hair to two different lengths, you

can use the thinning comb to create a smooth transition

between these two lengths.

1

Slide the thinning comb into the slot in the

appliance (‘click’) (Fig. 6).

2

Set the thinning comb to a hair length setting that

is halfway between the two hair length settings you

used to create the haircut.

For instance, if you have cut top part of the haircut to a

length of 20mm and the bottom part of the haircut to a

length of 10mm, set the thinning comb to 15mm.

3

Move the thinning comb upwards through the

transition between the two lengths (Fig. 9).

Make sure the thinning comb only touches each spot

once, otherwise it cuts all the hair to the set hair length.

Clipping without comb

You can use the clipper without comb to contour the

neckline, the area around the ears and sideburns.

The comb keeps the cutting unit at a certain distance

from your head. This means that, if you use the clipper

without comb, your hair is cut off very close to the skin.

1

To remove the comb, pull it off the

appliance (Fig. 10).

Never pull at the flexible top of the comb. Always pull at

the bottom part.

2

Switch on the appliance.

3

Hold the appliance with the cutting unit pointing

upwards and make downward strokes with the

regular trimmer (the broad side of the cutting unit).

Be careful, the trimmer removes every hair it touches.

Using the precision trimmer

The precision trimmer is only half as wide as the regular

trimmer. It therefore allows more precise contouring of

the neckline, the area around the ears and sideburns.

1

To use the precision trimmer, simply turn the

cutting unit 180° until the precision trimmer points

towards the front of the appliance (Fig. 11).

Note: You can also turn the cutting element 90° clockwise or

anticlockwise if this makes it easier to trim certain areas.
