Hi-Fi Stereo Sound with Built-In MTS/SAP Decoder
Record stereo videotapes from stereo sound sources and
playback pre-recorded hi-fi Stereo tapes in hi-fi Stereo sound –
with an excellent 90dB+ dynamic range – through a stereo-
equipped TV or regular TV and stereo hi-fi home audio system.
The built-in MTS/SAP decoder allows reception and recording
of off-air television stereo broadcasts and second audio program
transmissions, where available. Backup memory logic retains the
cable channel guide map indefinitely even during a power failure
or when the VCR is disconnected from its power source.
VCR Plus+ Programming Simplifies VCR programming
by allowing you to simply enter PlusCode® programming
numbers found in many published television listings.When
recording begins, your VCR automatically selects the proper TV
channel and program length. Backup memory logic retains the
cable channel guide map indefinitely even during a power failure
or when the VCR is disconnected from its power source.

Four-Head, Double Azimuth Design Combines direct
drive cylinder and capstan motors with a precision digital
servo control to produce excellent special effects
reproduction–Still, Slow, and with the appropriate remote
control, Frame Advance,Variable Slow Motion and X2 Play–in
both SP and SLP speeds.
Digital Auto Tracking System When tape playback
begins, this feature automatically seeks the optimum tracking
position in the tracking range, and the optimum audio signal
tracking position for for clearest picture and sound from
videotapes. Controls are provided on the remote transmitter
to give you manual control should tracking adjustments be
necessary.

SmartClock™ Once activated, this menu-driven feature
will automatically maintain the correct time, regularly checking
and updating the time if necessary.This function will also reset
the clock after a power failure.The menu-driven time zone
feature allows selection of appropriate time for those who live
in a time zone other that that of their CATV service provider.
Automatic Channel Setup Activating this feature allows
the VCR tuner to scan through television frequencies,
automatically storing active broadcast channel into
memory.Then only active channels programmed into memory
are tuned using the channel up/down buttons on either the
remote or front panel of the VCR. Automatic channel preset
can be repeated whenever desired, should new channels
become available. Channels can be manually added or deleted.
Front Panel Audio/Video Inputs Provide added
convenience to the user when recording tapes directly from a
camcorder to the VCR. In addition, accessory video equipment
such as a video game or CD-i player can be connected for
direct playthrough to the TV set.
181-Channel FS Tuning The digital quartz tuner is
capable of receiving up to 181 channels, including UHF,VHF, and
113 cable channels, without the inconvenience and expense of a
cable company decoder/converter (on non-scrambled cable
systems). Channel tuning is by random access with the remote
control transmitter or scan tuning up and down by remote or
at the set.
Clock/Function Display Continuously alerts the user to
all important recording and playback conditions, time, counter
position, tape speed, channel number, etc.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) On-Screen Function
Display Indicates record/playback functions, channel number,
clock setting, date, counter, programming, one-touch record and
record standby, keeping the user alerted to the status of all
features in a heads up on-screen display.
