Preparation

The Surround Encoder is an application for OS X versions 10.2.8 onwards,
with Java 1.4.1 already installed. OS X versions 10.3 and higher already have
Java 1.4.1 installed.

If your version of OS X is before 10.2.0, you will need to purchase an upgrade
to version 10.2 or higher.

If your version is higher than 10.2 but lower than 10.2.8, upgrade to the latest
version with the

Software Update

Once the operating system is at version 10.2.8 or higher, you will be able to
upgrade to Java 1.4.1. This can be done with the

Software Update

utility

or an update patch.
