SECTION 6. EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

6.1

GENERAL INFORMATION

This section explains the steps to be taken in case of an emer-
gency situation while operating the machine.

6.2

EMERGENCY OPERATION

Operator Unable to Control Machine

IF THE PLATFORM OPERATOR IS PINNED, TRAPPED OR UNABLE
TO OPERATE OR CONTROL THE MACHINE, USE THE FOLLOWING
INSTRUCTIONS AS A GUIDELINE.

1. Other personnel should operate the machine from

ground controls only as required.

2. Only qualified personnel in the platform may use the

platform controls. DO NOT CONTINUE OPERATION IF
CONTROLS DO NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY.

3. Cranes, forklift trucks or other equipment can be used

to remove the platform occupant and stabilize motion
of the machine.

Platform Caught Overhead

If the platform becomes jammed or snagged in overhead struc-
tures or equipment, rescue the platform occupant prior to free-
ing the machine.

Righting of Tipped Machine

Before righting a tipped machine, check machine for any dam-
age which may prevent it from setting properly on its base
wheels once in a vertical position, (i.e. base wheels damaged,
base frame distorted, etc.). Use a crane, forklift or other suitable
lifting equipment and carefully lift the machine to an upright
position.

NOTICE

FOLLOWING ANY INCIDENT, THOROUGHLY INSPECT THE MACHINE AND TEST
ALL FUNCTIONS. DO NOT LIFT ABOVE 10 FEET (3 METERS) UNTIL YOU ARE
SURE THAT ALL DAMAGE HAS BEEN REPAIRED, IF REQUIRED, AND THAT ALL
CONTROLS ARE OPERATING CORRECTLY.
