CS-330T

Spark Arrestor Screen

Carbon deposits in muffler will cause a drop in engine output
and overheating. Spark arrestor screen must be checked
periodically.

1. Remove air cleaner cover and remove spark plug lead.

2. Remove sprocket guard.

3. Remove muffler cover.

4. Remove spark arrestor cover, gaskets, and screen from muffler body.

5. Clean carbon deposits from muffler components.

Note: When cleaning carbon deposit, be careful not to damage the catalytic element inside muffler.

6. Replace screen if it is cracked, plugged, or has holes burned through.

7. Assemble components in reverse order.

Exhaust Port Cleaning

Level 2.

1. Remove air cleaner cover and remove spark plug lead.

2. Release chain brake, remove guide bar nuts, sprocket

guard, guide bar, and chain.

3. Remove muffler cover.

Note: Some units may have a metal shim (A) between the

muffler cover and clutch cover. Make sure shim is installed properly when reassembling parts.

4. Place piston at top dead center.

5. Remove muffler. Check parts for wear or damage, and

replace if necessary.
